GO Review: Die Hard Trilogy 2 - Jimmy Clydesdale
  • Yippie-ki-yay! I tell ya, John McClane just can't catch a break as once again he finds the chips stacked against him in Las Vegas. Now, if only the game were as exciting as the locale it's based in. Here's a little blurb from our review of Die Hard Trilogy 2:

"The most irritating part about this (besides the ridiculous premise) are the graphics. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't like big flashing targets, a la Sega, in my games, it's just that... it's not 1996 anymore. Yeah, hate to break it to ya, we've kinda reached the year 2000 and all, and you see, those kind of graphics aren't that welcome anymore. Of course, this being a Playstation port may have something to do with the quality of the graphics, but I'm not playing this on Bleem, I'm playing this on my Voodoo3 3500, which cost me a wee bit more than a Playstation."

Be sure to check out the rest of our Die Hard Trilogy 2 review including a dozen screenshots. Enjoy!

GO Review: Softball Slam - Jimmy Clydesdale
  • Despite the endorsement from Sammy Sosa, 3DO's first ever softball-themed title strikes out. Here's a little blurb from our review of Softball Slam:

"Softball Slam uses a modified version of the High Heat Baseball engine. For those of you familiar with the engine, you'll know that it features true-to-life physics. The AI model has been changed completely to contrast the hardcore style of High Heat Baseball. During a single game you might see players come up to the plate with a drink in their hand. You'll see players brace themselves and constantly miss fly balls. I even witnessed an outfielder go for a fly ball only to have it hit him on the head and knock him out, literally. Players will do cartwheels and summersaults as they 'dive' for ground balls. Players will annoyingly throw the ball away, an event that takes place at least 30 times a game. What I'm trying to say is you'll witness somewhere between 20-60 errors in a single game. (Not that anybody is counting)"

Be sure to check out the rest of our Softball Slam review including a mit full screenshots. Enjoy!
