New Game Over Rating System
- Dark Savant
Game Over Online Magazine has decided it's time for a switch to the rating system. We didn't like the weighted system
as we felt it allowed one category to influence too much of the overall score and as such we have developed somethign new.
The new system will use only one rating out of 100%. There will be specific intervals that denote different qualities of games.
For a full description of the new system please go here.

GO Review: Suzuki Alstare Extreme Racing
- Jimmy Clydesdale
The action is fast and furious in Suzuki Alstare Extreme Racing, a motorcycle racing game that is bound to catch the
eye of arcade enthusiasts. Here's a little blurb from our review:
"Overall, this game is very suited to the arcade lover. It doesn't have the realism and physics of a real bike game.
If that's what you're after, I suggest EA's Superbike 2000. It does have the fun game-play and eye-candy that
you'd expect from an arcade racer. If you liked such games as Motoracer, ManxTT Superbike and Redline Racer,
you're bound to love Suzuki Alstare Extreme Racing."

"The internet, however, is a whole other can of worms. The technology allows us to shout to the world, share ideas with a like-minded group, or have a one-on-one dialogue. What?s more, it can all be done in real-time or not, and can be protected by anonymity.

Judge Orders Microsoft Split
- Jimmy Clydesdale
Judge Jackson made his decision today, ruling that Microsoft should be split into two companies, one with
Microsoft's Office and Internet business, the other controlling the operating system. According to the Wall
Street Journal report, the judge rebuked the software giant for stifling computer-age competition. The decision
closely followed the plan submitted by the federal and 17 state governments.
Microsoft, still insisting it never violated antitrust laws, will seek appeal. However, through an obscure law, the federal government may be able to jump the case
directly to the Supreme Court. Analysts predict, based on previous decisions, that Microsoft will gain a more favorable hearing in the appellate courts than in the
Supreme Court.

Gamers' Choice Award: MDK 2
- Jimmy Clydesdale
Another Gamers' Choice Award, this time for Interplay's highly anticipated action sequel MDK 2. We've posted up two
reviews for this bad boy and here's a little blurb from one of those reviews:
"MDK2 uses the Omen engine, which is nothing like the original MDK engine. It utilizes openGL which gives some of
the best lighting effects I have seen ever in a game. This is partly due to the fact that the Omen engine supports
the hardware transformation and lighting, which is now found on all the new generation video cards.
Besides the graphics engine, MDK2 boasts some great character animations. The character models
are not as realistic as one would hope for however, but because of the overall humorous nature of the game, the
"comic book" quality of the characters actually help to enhance gameplay."

A recipient of our Gamers' Choice Award, Soulbringer puts an end to the RPG drought with it's unique combat and magic
systems. Here's a little blurb from our review:
"Soulbringer is, at its core, your average RPG. It leans towards the style of Diablo, Darkstone and Nox, the kind of RPG
that offers pure action yet it's the quest based structure and the overall storyline, along some unique twists on
the genre, that moves this title away from being simply a pure hack 'n slash game."

performance and reduces cost of implementation. Using the Ultra ATA-100 core, manufacturers can increase internal data rates up to 100MB per second, allowing higher storage densities.
The patented intelligent buffer manager of the Ultra ATA-100 core enhances performance through decreasing access times between the host
and disc interfaces, Cirrus said. Also, the buffer core supports high-speed SDRAM with increased buffer speeds to ensure full speed host and
disc data transfers. Cirrus's patented error correction code is also a part of the CL-SH8670. The programmable error correction technologies
