Gamer's Choice Award: Final Fantasy VIII
- Seth Gecko
Final Fantasy VIII is the second game of the year to receive our Gamer's Choice Award (Planescape: Torment being the
other). Here's a little blurb from one of our THREE reviews of Final Fantasy VIII:
"By now I'm sure you've all heard of the dreaded final-fantacitis virus that went around the gaming community last
year. How many of our friends developed those big blocky hands, grew long spikey hair, and ran around with
gigantic swords while singing cutesy Japanese ballads. And at such a young and tender age! In fact, let's pause
for a moment of silence as we remember our fallen comrades...
... OK enough of that. Final Fantasy junkies, wipe dat drool off your chin and call your boss to let her know that
you won't be in for the next week - Final Fantasy VIII PC has arrived."
We've got the definitive review of Final Fantasy VIII, with 3 different reviews and over 40 screenshots! This is one review
you don't want to miss. Enjoy!

GO Review: South Park Rally
- Seth Gecko
Super Sweeeet! All those crazy South Park characters are back again in Acclaim's latest title, South Park Rally.
It's time for some reviewer brutality! Here's a little blurb from our review of South Park Rally:
"While my feelings about South Park Rally started off on a positive note, they quickly went downhill after a couple
of hours. The lure of South Park characters racing around the TV show locations died very quickly mainly because
of the lack of innovation in course design, so-so gameplay and lack of a save game feature."
Be sure to check out the rest of our South Park Rally review including a dozen screenshots, Mmmm'kay?

Rumor - Blizzard on the Rocks?
- Seth Gecko
An engaging series of events might bring a halt to the developing juggernaut known as Blizzard. Sources indicate that
Havas Interactive is planning to
implement a pay scale modification this March. Rumor has it that once this pay reduction occurs, a truck load of

Return to Castle Wolfenstein
- Seth Gecko
In an exciting move, iD Software
has licensed the rights to develop a sequel to their legendary first-person
shooter, Wolfenstein 3-D, to Activision.
The new title, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, will be developed by Gray Matter Interactive Studios, a newly formed
game developer founded by the top designers formerly from Xatrix Entertainment, the developer of such popular games as
Redneck Rampage and Kingpin. Return to Castle Wolfenstein will be published by Activision with id Software overseeing
development of the game.
Like the original id game, players assume the role of William J. ``B.J.'' Blazkowicz, the Allies' bad boy of WWII espionage.
The fate of the free world hangs in the balance as B.J. battles against the sadistic machinations of a Nazi war machine
bent on world domination. This latest sequel will reflect the same over-the-top comic book style of the original Wolfenstein 3D.
However, by using the unparalleled graphics technology of the QUAKE III Arena(TM) engine and a new scripting
system, Return to Castle Wolfenstein will pull the player further into a chilling storyline filled with frightening tales
of bio-engineering and the occult. Devotees of multiplayer action will be able to jump online and frag-it-out within the
unique Wolfenstein world.
