Supreme Commander 2 Ships for 360

Square Enix today announced that Supreme Commander 2 for the Xbox 360 has shipped to stores nationwide. Created by developer Gas Powered Games, Supreme Commander 2 is the next installment in the franchise, set 25 years further into the future.

    Elevating real-time strategy games to the next dimension, Supreme Commander 2 brings a new level of emotional connection and accessibility to the genre. The game features numerous enhancements as well as an in-depth campaign mode, unique storyline, and riveting online multiplayer. Players will experience brutal battles on a massive scale as they assume the role of one of the three enigmatic commanders, each representing a unique faction. Supreme Commander is a fully customizable experience, allowing players to create enormous armies and experimental war machines that can change the balance of power at any given moment. The rich storyline will challenge players to decide where their loyalties lie.

Spectral Force Genesis in Stores

Ignition Entertainment announced today that Spectral Force Genesis for the Nintendo DS is now available in stores nationwide.

    A tactical RPG set to the backdrop of warring nations, the latest installment in the popular Spectral Force Genesis series offers an all-new, character-driven experience. Choosing to become the leader of one of 40 countries, each with its own story and characters, players must decide how to unite the remaining countries and bring peace to the Neverland Kingdom. It’s up to the player to decide how to change the face of Neverland Kingdom – by diplomacy, or by force.

    Using the DS stylus as a unique weapon of war, players will march troops into epic battlefields and deploy a variety of defensive and offensive strategies. Players can also conjure a roster of powerful magic spells to greatly alter the flow of combat. But there’s much more to uniting a broken kingdom than combat. Players must contend with a bevy of economic and societal dilemmas if they plan to dominate the map.

Kane & Lynch 2 Dated

IO Interactive today confirmed that Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days will release on August 24th on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

    A raw and brutal crime shooter, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days follows two disturbed criminals, Lynch – an impulsive and reckless self-medicated psychopath and Kane – a tactical but disillusioned and desperate ex-mercenary, through 48 hours of hell.

    Introducing a new visual experience inspired by documentary filmmakers and the user-generated era. Players are pulled into the game world, with every move and shift of the camera capturing the mayhem, in an unscripted style.

Red Dead Redemption Gameplay Video

Rockstar Games has released a new Red Dead Redemption gameplay video. Titled Life in the West, this video uncovers the hardships early 20th century settlers encountered, where everyday life brought a new struggle for survival. The world of Red Dead Redemption hides unique challenges in every area, with wild bears and snow in the North, bandits and cattle rustlers in the West, to unrest and revolution in the South. Hundreds of characters populate each of the three areas, each with a distinct personality, and every area has its own unique ecosystem with a variety of animals and plant life.

Skate 3 Dated, Trailer

Black Box announced today that Skate 3 will be in stores on May 11th for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Skate 3 promises to break new ground by letting gamers build their ultimate skate team both offline and co-operatively to take on new challenges or competitive battles against other teams.

    In the all-new Skate.School, Coach Frank acts as a mentor and teaches newcomers the ropes by showing them all the ins-and-outs of skateboarding as they hone their skills on the sticks before hitting the streets with their team. Veterans will also feel right at home in Skate.School as they refresh their skills but also learn all the new tricks Skate 3 has to offer including darkslides and underflips.

    Gamers can hit the streets with the pros in the all-new city of Port Carverton – a true skater’s paradise with unique districts, skate parks, and endless lines. For fans with a creative flair, the new Skate.Park editor allows gamers to create their own dream plaza or mega-ramp park from scratch or use the Object Dropper to alter the landscape of Port Carverton to truly change the face of the city. Tom Salta Composes Red Steel 2 Soundtrack

Composer Tom Salta has written and produced an original musical score for Red Steel 2, Ubisoft’s upcoming first-person action title developed exclusively for the Wii and designed with full Wii MotionPlus integration. In Red Steel 2, the player becomes a swordsman who finds himself in a remote mixed metropolis in the middle of the American desert, where Eastern and Western cultures collide. To reflect this adventurous new setting in Red Steel 2, Salta composed a ‘Wild West’ guitar-driven score blended with evocative Asian music influences. Red Steel 2 is scheduled for release on March 23rd.

NIER Comic Mini-Series Coming

Square Enix is partnering with DC Comics imprint Wildstorm to create a custom comic series that will explore the back story of the upcoming Action-RPG NIER. The NIER comics will be available on the game’s official website, on Xbox Live Marketplace Arcade, and on PlayStation Store between now and April 27th when the game ships. The comics will reveal clues about key characters from the game, including the title-character Nier; his disease-stricken daughter, Yonah; a conflicted and foul-mouthed fighting companion, Kaine; and, the talking book with an attitude, Grimoire Weiss. In addition, the NIER comics will address questions that have yet to be answered, namely, what sequence of events led to the fall of humanity? How was the deadly disease, The Black Scrawl, introduced to the earth? And, where did the terrifying Shades come from and why do they torment the few remaining survivors? There will be three NIER comics in all, each telling a unique, yet overlapping story.

UFC Undisputed 2010 BJ Penn Video

THQ has released a new UFC Undisputed 2010 video featuring the current UFC Lightweight Champion, BJ “The Prodigy” Penn. THQ also revealed some of the enhanced combat features, including:

  • Full upper body and head movement with a new Sway System
  • New Posture System that allows for stronger, fight-ending strikes from the ground
  • Introduction of Southpaw stance and the ability to change stances during a fight
  • Multiple MMA disciplines, including the new additions of Sambo, Karate and Greco-Roman Wrestling
  • Variety of new strikes, submissions, transitions and cage positions

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Announced

Square Enix announced today that Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep will be released this Summer. Coming exclusively to the PSP, the game is a prequel that reveals the untold origins of the Kingdom Hearts franchise.

    Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep is the fifth installment in the RPG series. Enjoy three unique gaming experiences through three main characters – Terra, Ventus and Aqua – in order to uncover the mysteries of the story. With a distinctive battle system and multiplayer mode, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep adds a new depth to the franchise.

    The game also introduces Disney worlds and characters that have never been seen in previous Kingdom Hearts titles, including Sleeping Beauty’s Enchanted Dominion, the Dwarf Woodlands from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Deep Space from Lilo and Stitch. Sega announced today that Infinite Space, the role-playing game exclusively for the Nintendo DS, has shipped to stores nationwide.

    Infinite Space follows the story of Yuri, a young boy who longs for adventure that awaits him in space, and journeys through the galactic frontier to discover space and his true destiny. MGS: Peace Walker PSP Bundle

Sony Computer Entertainment today announced the availability of the limited-edition Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker PSP Entertainment Pack.
