2017 Independent Games Festival Announces Award Finalists

The organizers of the 19th annual Independent Games Festival have announced the finalists for the 2017 IGF Awards, which honors the most influential, innovative and exemplary projects in independent game development. With more than 650 entries, judges have selected 30 outstanding nominees.

Finalists include the first-person thriller, Virginia, from the developer Variable State, the action RPG, Hyper Light Drifter by Heart Machine, the puzzle-platformer Inside from Playdead, and Event[0] by Ocelot Society, a sci-fi narrative exploration game.

The award ceremony takes place on March 1st, 2017 during the Game Developers Conference, and will be hosted by game designer Nina Freeman.
