April 2015 Video Game Sales Results

The NPD Group has released its retail report for the month of April. While hardware sales were down year-over-year in April by 4%, software sales were up 13%. Overall, total industry sales were up 3% to $595.7 million. Xbox One was the top-selling platform in April, up 63% year-over-year, while PlayStation 4 was No. 1 in software sales.

The top selling games of April were as follows:

1. Mortal Kombat X
2. Grand Theft Auto V
3. Battlefield: Hardline
4. MLB 15: The Show
5. Minecraft
6. NBA 2K15
7. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
8. Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin
9. Super Smash Bros.
10. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection

Note: The NPD Group does not track digital game sales, only physical game sales.
